Logistics

Many people have been inquiring about logistics for how we can be a part of the celebration of Michael's life and the ongoing support of the family.  Although things are not yet finalized, there will likely be a private (family only) funeral on either Sunday or Monday and a wake for friends on Sunday - most likely at the Biltmore.  Please stay tuned here for updates.

At the request of family, please do not send flowers.  For those that wish to make a donation in Michael's honor, suggestions include: Arizona Animal Welfare League, Arizona Off-Highway Vehicle Coalition (AZOHVC.com), and Yavapai County Search and Rescue/Jeep Posse.

A memorial jeep run has been proposed for later in the year when the temperatures cool off in the Valley.

A "freezer food drive" of prepared meals is being lead by Emily and Tui.  Please feel free to post with what your specialty is and they can coordinate so that everyone doesn't make a lasagna!

  1. Meals for the family will be collected in the Gilbert area on Friday night/Saturday morning. If you are elsewhere in the valley please leave an email addr or contact info so Tui & I can arrange pick up. We would prefer to not have individuals ringing the Grenley's doorbell to deliver food.

  3. I would like to contribute to any paypal fund that would go directly to Michael's family to help with the immediate costs while settling their new life. Could someone in the family or close friend set one up? I had donated to the "find Michael" fund, but can also spare some money to the help Michael's family fund. Right now, I am working and not much help on lasagna or pies, but I want to do what I can. Kind regards, marcyjhenderson@gmail.com

  4. Just a recommendation folks, if you leave your email address, I would spell it out as name at domain dot com, which prevents the spammers from harvesting your email address. Just a thought. I believe you can edit your comments if you so desire.

  5. The venue for the Honeywell folks "Irish Wake" on Sunday will be Rula Bula on Mill Avenue. This is not a company sponsored event. A time will be determined that is in close proximity to the memorial service, which is yet TBD. Can someone determine whether we can make a reservation for outside and, if so, how many people we need to reserve? I'm in for 2 people. -Mason

  6. I can take care of Rula Bula, but can you spread the word and get me a rough head-count fairly quickly? It needn't be outside given the heat and that it will be a Sunday, but it depends on the number of people, of course. I will see if there is a misting system and/or a shaded area for the outside bit.

  7. Invites going out for current employees. Can the Honeywell alumni please post here with a count of who can attend Sunday evening at Rula Bula (including significant others)?

  9. There are a couple of AZVJC guys that would like to attend something, but would like to be sure to attend when it is appropriate for them. Please advise.

  10. To clarify things for an out-of-towner -- is the memorial service open to non-family, and is the wake open to non-Honeywellers?

    thanks,
    James

  11. Here is what I could find out regarding the wake. There will be a reception open to friends and colleagues at the Biltmore in the Gold Room from 230pm-5pm. The cash-bar is available until 10pm. After the wake, Honeywell and Honeywell alumni will transition to Rula Bula for a private gathering (@Travis, what time? 6pm?). I'm looking forward to seeing folks at both venues.

  12. One more call to donate MEALS FOR MISSY & FAMILY. I will arrange pickup/drop off time (Friday night/early Sat) with you if you'd email me that you're interested... emily dot harry at gmail dot com

I would love to provide the family with two weeks worth of meals, we are really close. Guys, I know this isn't usually your "thing" so ask your wife if she'd like to help!
